Inner West Imaging offers a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art image techniques and modalities using the most up-to-date equipment available on the market.

Imaging modalities include:

Computed Tomography (CT Scanning)
Ultrasound
Dental Imaging
Chiropractic Imaging
CT Bone Densitometry
Interventional Procedures and Biopsies

We use an electronic image archive (PACS) to store all studies indefinitely, which allows for immediately retrieval for comparison with previous images and to replace lost films.

Direct access to the image archive is available to all referrers (for the patients they refer only) using our high-speed internet backbone. Already some referrers have decided that film is no longer needed since instant access is always available.

Images accessed over the internet (using our secure link) can be magnified, measured, inverted and compared, all from the referrers office.

This service is provided free of charge to referrers by Inner West PACS.

Computed Tomography (CT Scanning)

A large variety of scans can be performed, using the newest, high speed Siemens Cardiac 64 CT scanner, including:

Head CT
Neck CT
Chest CT - with high resolution imaging
Abdominal CT - with multiple phases to look for liver or kidney tumours
Vascular CT - including imaging of the Circle of Willis, Neck Vessels, Heart and Great vessels, Aorta, Renal Arteries and the Arterial supply of the Arms and Legs
Urological CT - including CT IVPs, which in some centres have largely replaced conventional IVP studies

Ultrasound

A comprehensive selection of Ultrasound examinations can be performed by our specialised sonographers (both male and female), including:

Abdominal US - imaging the liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and bladder
Pelvic US - for the investigation of gynaecological problems
Foetal US - early pregnancy, dating and foetal anomaly as well as growth scans can be performed
DVT studies
Carotid Duplex - to look for vascular narrowing which may be related to strokes
Musculoskeletal US - a very comprehensive service is available with both active and passive assessment of the full gamut of MSK problems

Dental Imaging

A full range of dental imaging is available, including:

OPG
TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) views, with dynamic imaging
Lateral Cephalograms and AP skull x-rays
Denta-scan for implant planning

Chiropractic Imaging

Comprehensive imaging is available, including:

Full spine and full leg (weight bearing) views using dedicated image fusion software

Access to the image archive for accurate measurements including distances and calibrated angle and offset assessment

CT Bone Densitometry

An accurate and rapid method of assessing the degree of osteoporosis in the spine, with results correlated to fractures risk over time.

Interventional Procedures and Biopsies

We offer an expert service in outpatient interventional procedures and biopsies, performed by highly experienced interventional radiologists from a major Sydney Teaching Hospital.

Facet Joint Injections - for back pain
Nerve Root Injections - for back pain
Steroid and Local Anaesthetic injections for the full gamut of joints - under CT, US or Fluoroscopic Guidance
Biopsies of superficial structures

Because of the risks involved in some procedures if you have any doubts please don't hesitate to contact any one of the specialist radiologists to discuss the procedure so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
